Adira: Queer Arab Joy

ADIRA is a queer Arabic-pop club night and collective based in Berlin. Founded in 2023 by Hassandra and xanax_attax, ADIRA challenges orientalist stereotypes and celebrates the diversity of queer Arab* identities. ADIRA is a major nostalgic throwback to 80s, 90s, and early 00s Arabic-pop music.

In June 2024, ADIRA launched the first-ever Arab* Drag Festival. Additionally, the collective had their first festival debut at WHOLE Festival and organized many community events, such as: Fairuziyat, a queer Ramadan Iftar and many more.

*Note: Arab* denotes a diversity of identities and ethnicities within Southwest Asia and North Africa.
